The Improvised Weapons at Home & Travel course teaches civilians how to identify, adapt, and utilize everyday objects for self-protection in emergencies. Whether at home, in a hotel, at work, or walking through a parking garage, you’ll learn how to turn everyday items into practical defense tools while understanding when and how to justify their use legally.

Weapons Hidden in Plain Sight: Learn how ordinary objects can become defensive tools, including:

Writing tools – Pencils, pens, and markers as stabbing or striking weapons

Kitchenware – Knives, frying pans, cutting boards, and rolling pins

Household items – Flashlights, belts, canes, broom handles, keys, screwdrivers

Travel-friendly weapons – Umbrellas, water bottles, magazines, scarves, backpacks

Heavy impact objects – Rocks, books, ashtrays, hammers, and even a simple roll of quarters

Sharp-edged tools – Scissors, box cutters, glass bottles

Flexible weapons – Towels, shoelaces, power cords, and jackets for blocking or choking

Larger weapons – Axes, shovels, fire extinguishers in extreme situations
